Sure, watching anime is fun… but why not collect your favorite action figures and memorabilia while you’re at it? Not only will they add a splash of fun culture to whatever space you store them in but they may even make you money one day! One of the more popular sites I’ve seen recently is Tokyo Otaku Mode. But is Otaku Mode legit?
Otaku Mode is a 100% legit online store. Otaku Mode carries a wide range of authentic products, ship worldwide, and even offer a premium membership that allows loyal fans to get special deals on all of their favorite anime and Japanese memorabilia.
There’s a huge market for re-selling rare and authentic action figures in today’s auction market. So your small investment today could turn into a lot more if the show becomes famous enough one day. Today, I’m going to do my best to answer some of the most commonly asked questions about the Tokyo Otaku Mode store.
Common Questions About Ordering From Otaku Mode
Whether you’re a die-hard anime fan or you prefer to read Japanese mangas and light novels, Otaku Mode has one of the biggest selections of action figures and authentic fan gear on the internet! I’ve ordered from them a couple of times myself and a few of my friends have also tried ordering from them as well.
Admittedly, Otaku Mode isn’t perfect. There are always going to be some problems that arise when ordering items from overseas. However, for the most part, my experience has been great! That being said, let’s take a look at some of the most common questions I’ve been asked about Otaku Mode.
Does Otaku Mode Sell Authentic Action Figures?
Yes! Unfortunately, there is a huge market for fake action figures on the Chinese market. These fake action figures are sold by large replicator factories and take away business from the authentic Japanese companies who put in the hard work and effort to design the unique figurines.
Thankfully, Otaku Mode is 100% legit. Whether you’re looking for a figurine of Naruto eating his famous bowl of ramen or you want a giant sumo wrestler statue to put on your shelf, you can order from Otaku Mode with full confidence.
Why Is Tokyo Otaku Mode So Expensive?
One of the main complaints that I’ve seen about Tokyo Otaku Mode is that they have overpriced figurines. While they do have some affordable action figures, many of their top-sellers cost well over $100 each. For most people, this is a high price to pay for a plastic-cast toy.
The reason why Otaku Mode is so expensive is mostly that they focus on authenticity and rare products. You’ll find ultra-rare figures on Otaku Mode that you’ll be hard-pressed to find anywhere else. Otaku Mode will also give you a heads up when they’re about to release new or rare figurines, so you can pre-order them and save your spot in line.
Is Otaku Mode Premium Membership Worth It?
Personally, I don’t order from them enough to warrant buying their premium membership. However, if you’re a true collector, then it’s definitely worth the extra money. The best reason to buy the premium membership is that you’ll get significantly reduced pricing across the entire site. You’ll also receive special discounts (up to 30% or more) during holiday seasons or for placing larger orders.
Where Does Otaku Mode Ship From?
Otaku Mode ships from Japan, which is another reason why they’re a bit more expensive to order from. This is because Japanese companies are typically required to pay higher taxes on out-of-country sales (the same as how [Japanese residents ordering from Amazon] have to pay higher fees).
Is Otaku Mode Better Than Crunchyroll’s Store?
One of my favorite places to order action figures and anime gifts from is Crunchyroll. While most people know Crunchyroll for its huge collection of anime, they also have a huge online store!
Based on my experience, I’d say that Crunchyroll is the better choice for purchasing most anime action figures. Not only do they sell legitimate, authentic figurines but they also ship from the United States. Unlike Otaku Mode, which ships from Japan, this means that your order will arrive a lot faster.
Truth be told, the main reason I order from Otaku Mode is that they typically have a wider selection of rare figurines that I can’t find in Crunchyroll’s store.
Final Thoughts
If you’re looking for a rare figurine or anime memorabilia, then Otaku Mode is a great place to check out. However, for most action figures, I generally prefer to shop on Crunchyroll since their prices are cheaper and shipping is faster.
